I’m sure you’ve seen seen the news over the last 12 months—Universal Orlando Resort is opening it’s newest theme park this year: Universal EPIC Universe!
Well in October we got our opening date – 22nd May 2025, so it’s about time I brought you a blog! This brand-new theme park will be the biggest expansion in Universal’s history, bringing cutting-edge attractions, immersive worlds, and next-level experiences to Orlando.
Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, a movie buff, or a family looking for unforgettable adventures, Universal Epic Universe promises something for everyone.
Here’s a closer look at what’s coming!
Five New Worlds a Brand New Hotel all in One Universe
Epic Universe will feature five distinct worlds, each designed to transport visitors into fantastical worlds inspired by beloved franchises. The park’s layout is different from Universal’s existing parks, with Celestial Park acting as the central hub that connects the other immersive worlds.
Let’s explore what’s coming:
Celestial Park – The Heart of Epic Universe
Epic Universe features Celestial Park as its hub. This lush, futuristic wonderland will connect all the other four themed worlds and serve as a stunning destination on its own, including the brand new signature Universal Helios Grand Hotel, which has its own dedicated entrance to Epic Universe.
Highlights of Celestial Park will include:
– Gorgeous water features, gardens, and celestial-themed pathways
– Stardust Racers, a roller coaster with a dual launch, rumoured to be one of the biggest thrill rides across all of Universal Orlando Resort!!
– All new stores, dining and entertainment
Think of Celestial Park as a stunning oasis where you can explore, relax, and enjoy breathtaking sights before heading off to your next adventure in one of the four new amazing themed worlds!
Super Nintendo World™ – Step Inside the Game!
Nintendo fans, this one’s for you! Super Nintendo World is bringing the colourful and interactive world of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach to life like never before.
Already a huge hit in Japan and Hollywood, the Orlando version promises:
– Super Mario Land™ and Donkey Kong Country™
– Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge™ – A state-of-the-art racing attraction with AR technology
– Interactive Power-Up Bands to collect coins and complete challenges
– Character meet-and-greets with your favourite Nintendo stars
– Themed food, shops, and immersive decor straight out of the Mushroom Kingdom
– and more!
This world will make you feel like you’ve jumped right into a real life Mario Bros. video game! My family and I experienced Super Nintendo World™ in Universal Hollywood and the theming was honestly INCREDIBLE!!
We queued a loooooong time for Bowser’s Challenge and found it to be not really worth the wait, but we’re definitely glad we did it. And the Power-Up challenges were fun too.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
If you’ve already visited Universal Orlando Resort – or even if you haven’t – you probably already know about the two lands that are already exist as part of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ there, being Diagon Alley™ and Hogsmeade™. With EPIC Universe comes a brand-new Harry Potter experience in two very distinct eras! It brings you to 1920s Paris from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them™ and then 1990s Ministry of Magic™!
What to expect:
– Umbridge!!! GAH! (If you know, you know!)
– A stunning recreation of the Parisian wizarding world
– Wizarding character encounters and new shopping and dining inspired by Fantastic Beasts™

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
This is the one my eldest daughter is the most excited for! DreamWorks fans, get ready to soar with dragons! This world will transport visitors to Isle of Berk, the Viking village from How to Train Your Dragon.
Must-sees in this world:
– A thrilling new attraction, Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, – Hiccup’s newest invention, where you can fly like you’re on the back of a dragon! And a new spectacular live show!
– Viking-themed play areas and interactive experiences

Dark Universe – Classic Monsters Reimagined
Prepare yourselves for chills and thrills in Dark Universe, a world dedicated to Universal’s classic monsters. Explore a village where Dr Victoria Frankenstein’s monstrous creations and other creatures like to roam. This is a horror lover’s dream!
What’s in store:
– A monster make-up experience! Get transformed into a vampire, werewolf, mummy or something else that goes bump in the night!
– Enjoy gothic architecture, incredible theming and deliciously spooky dining venues!
– Meet-and-greets with monsters including Frankenstein’s monster himself!
